Mount S. Angelo – Lipari

Starting from Canneto, it is possible to take the road and the paths that lead to the top of Mount S. Angelo.

Strategic position to admire the whole landscape, the Mount, of volcanic origin, is the testimony of the contact between water and magma and belongs to the second volcanic period, a geological characteristic of the island.

On this mountain, a thick Mediterranean scrub grows with heather, strawberry trees, gorses, cistus, with isolated chestnut trees and holm oaks, which represents one of the most expressive and most valuable examples of this type of formation found in the archipelago.
